Monday night, Collierville Mayor Stan Joyner issued a Proclamation to Post 5066 Quartermaster John Backus declaring March 29 Vietnam Veterans Day. Dozens came out to attend Vietnam Veterans Day. The Veterans of Foreign Wars is an organization for Combat Veterans – Post 5066 services Collierville, Bartlett, Cordova, Germantown, Lakeland, Arlington, Memphis, Fayette and Shelby County’s. Members reflect service in both the Pacific and European fronts of World War II through Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, the Global War on Terrorism, Afghanistan/Iraq and Syria. The top priority is taking care of the Veteran community all while engaging in community service, civic projects and fundraising.
