Searching for some at home activities for your kids?

Have them take part in the Germantown Community Library’s new Dear Friend Program.

Earlier this week the Germantown Community Library launched the Dear Friend, a program aimed to help those who may be feeling lonely or isolated during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The program will connect Germantown children (up to 18 years of age) with a Germantown homebound senior citizen (ages 60 and above) through pen pal writing program.

Through old fashioned letter writing, participants will be to connect with different generations and encourage each other during these unprecedented times.

The library will verify participants’ address and their desire to participate. The library will also pair each participating youth with a participating senior citizen.
