The holidays will be a little more merry this year for city employees.

The Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen authorized the purchase of 400 Kroger gift cards for city employees Monday night during their regularly scheduled meeting.

Full-time city employees will receive a $50 gift card.

This year, the city received a 4-percent discount for the purchases, which equates to $2 per gift card.
