The Germantown Municipal School District hosted its first Camp Invention earlier this month.
Around 80 children in kindergarten through fifth grade participated in the weeklong summer enrichment program at Houston Middle School.
The curricula presented them with real-world challenges and promoted the direct application of 21st Century critical-thinking and communication skills through hands-on STEM and entrepreneurship content.
Houston High School STEM teacher Christa Phillips said Camp Invention inspires children to be curious about their world and prepares them for the future.
The program was taught by certified GMSD teachers who receive professional development training.
