Home sales up in Germantown


Home sales in Germantown jumped nearly 8 percent last month but remain down more than 3 percent on the year.

According to reports from the Memphis Area Association of Realtors, the city saw 83 sales in May, including three new home sales.

Year-to-date sales are at 292, down from 303 through May of 2015.

At $305,000, Collierville has the highest median sales price in the county by $45,000. Germantown follows with $260,000.

With 41 new sales this year, Collierville has more than Germantown (6), Arlington (20) and Lakeland (4) combined. Cordova and Bartlett have recorded 51 and 58 new home sales, respectively.

Overall sales were up 34 percent in Bartlett (121) and down 20 percent in Collierville (90).

Year-to-date sales are up nearly 9 percent in Shelby County (6,025).

Sales were up 10 percent in Cordova during May, which has seen 852 sales this year.
