Houston’s student leaders bring home awards from state convention

Tennessee Association of Student Councils (TASC) provided a weekend in March for student leaders and advisors from across Tennessee to experience three days of leadership training, networking, inspiration, and fun.

During the annual TASC State Convention, several awards and recognitions were given to the Houston High Student Government Association.

Group SGA Awards:
Outstanding Recreation project – 3rd place
Outstanding Attitudes Project – 1st place
Outstanding Collaboration Project – 1st place
Outstanding Improving Student Attitudes Project – 1st place
TASC Four Star Award, and the highest award given by TASC – Platinum Award (only received by seven schools).

Individual awards:
Sally Gairhan – 3rd place in Essay
Victoria Heavey – Above and Beyond award
Olivia Brommer – Member of the Year award
Krista Lebovitz and Olivia Brommer – TASC All Star award

Katie Young was elected to serve on the TASC Executive Board as the West TN Area Representative Houston High is proud for her to take on this responsibility, as this is the third year in a row a student from the school has held the position.
