Three Germantown businesses were penalized last week for selling beer to minors.
Convening as the Beer Board, the Germantown Board of Mayor and Aldermen met after their regularly scheduled meeting last Monday to discuss violations made by three area businesses.
The Circle K Store at 9113 Winchester Road, which opened last year, was given a seven-day suspension or a $500 fine in lieu of suspension for illegally selling beer to a minor last November. It was the first violation for the business.
The Fresh Market at 9375 Poplar Ave. was given a 14-day suspension or a $1,000 fine in lieu of suspension for illegally selling beer to a minor. It was the second offense for the business in a five-year span.
The Exxon on Forest Hill-Irene was also given a seven-day suspension or a $500 fine in lieu of suspension for its first violation.
All three employees responsible for selling to minors were given misdemeanor citations. Selling alcohol to a minor a second time is a felony offense.
