The Germantown Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe on Tuesday afternoon at 7850 Poplar Ave. During the ceremony, a check for $1,527 was donated to Susan G. Komen Memphis – Midsouth. A trip to Greece in 1997 should have been a relaxing getaway for Taziki’s founders Keith and Amy Richards. Instead, they became inspired. As the perfect excuse to continue their love affair with Greek food, they brought the idea for Taziki’s home. A vision materialized in their hearts and minds of a place somewhere between the tasty Mediterranean markets and their mothers’ kitchens, where simple ingredients and imaginative recipes would come together for a refreshing and original experience. Together, they created a menu loaded with creative twists on classic dishes, and launched a unique dining spot in 1998. Since then, the franchise has grown to more than 50 locations throughout the U.S.For more information, call (901) 612-2713.
