Congressman Fincher will host Military Academy Day at Houston

Stephen Fincher

All West Tennessee middle and high school students interested in U.S. Military Service Academies are encouraged to attend the annual 8th District Military Academy Day on Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Houston High School, 9755 Wolf River Blvd. in Germantown.
Congressman Stephen Fincher will be joined by representatives, alumni and current Cadets and Midshipmen from all five Military Service Academies. The day will provide interested students, family members and teachers the opportunity to ask questions about the Service Academies.
Members of Congress may nominate a limited number of students each year to the Service Academies. The honor of attending a Service Academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation.
Students who wish to be nominated to attend a Service Academy as a freshman in 2016 must turn in their application to Congressman Fincher’s office in Memphis no later than Nov. 2. Applications are available online at: fincher.house.gov/services/military-academy-nominations.
