Police Briefs


– Street light modifications for Wolf River Blvd., between Kimbrough Road and Farmington Blvd., began on Feb. 3 and will continue throughout the month. Work hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Eastbound and westbound median lanes will have periodic closures. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open at all times. Motorists are asked to use caution while workers are present. – On Jan. 20, a theft was reported at Germantown High School. Twelve Apple computers and keyboards valued in excess of $15,000 were reported stolen. A Crime Stoppers tip led detectives from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Memphis Police Department and Southaven Police Department to the Memphis Inn on American Way. Detectives encountered Lederrius Brown in his room where they also located multiple Apple computers marked for Shelby County Schools and Desoto County Schools. Detectives were able to recover more than $10,000 in computer equipment. Brown later confessed to his involvement in the thefts.
